'True Love Never Dies': A Novel of Modern-Day Love Affairs, Culture and History
DUBLIN, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- True Love Never Dies (published by Trafford) by Bridget Uhuegbu is an examination of the confusion and frustration that can occur between men and women as they attempt to make their true feelings known to one another.
Instructor Opara is a proud man from an accomplished family. His education, social position and upbringing have all helped to give him self-confidence and a relatively easy way with a certain type of woman. But men in his culture have never been encouraged to be open with their feelings, and this proves to be an insurmountable obstacle in his quest for the one woman he's ever truly cared for.
Most people would say that Lady Susan Goldrick was out of Instructor Opara's league, but she was interested nonetheless. However, his refusal -- or was it inability? -- to be open about his feelings left her equally immobilized. Both parties, constrained by the social boundaries in which they were raised, were never able to act on the love they both shared.
This timeless story of unrequited love will strike a chord with any reader who has ever been stymied by the numerous obstacles to love. The insight offered here into certain cultural, social and historical customs is also revealing, as it affects the way men and women relate to one another.
