Oprah Winfrey officially has a street

Oprah Winfrey officially has a street named after her. The mayor of Chicago, Richard M. Daley, changed the name of the 100 block of North Carpenter Avenue, where her HARPO Studio sits, to Oprah Winfrey Way. Is there anything this woman can’t do?

During the ceremony yesterday, Oprah said, “That’s better than an Oscar or an Emmy. It is really just a full-circle miracle story that a little colored girl born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, on a red dirt road ends up with my name on a street in the greatest city in the world, Chicago. So, thank you.”

Oprah reminisced about first moving to the city that ended up being home to her talk show of 25 years. She came to audition for a hosting job on a show called AM Chicago.

“I thought, even if I don’t get the job, I’ll move into advertising in order to just be able to live in the city, which truly is the greatest city in the world. This place is my Tara. Scarlett O’Hara should have known about Chicago.”

The Hollywood Amazon Angelina Jolie leaped over Oprah Winfrey to top Forbes magazines list of most powerful celebrities and what a way to celebrate her 34th birthday. Forbes says Angelina Jolie made $27 million last year to overtake Oprah who is now second on the list, followed by Madonna, Beyoncé, and Tiger Woods. Angelina’s hubby Brad Pitt, is at No. 9.

Happy birthday to Angelina Jolie.

She was the celebrated personality at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival and makes the cover story of our Supple magazine in Nigeria.

She deserves all the respect as a great mom of six adorable children and wife of a great guy.

The whole world knows that Oprah Winfrey who has been named PETA's Person of the Year adores and loves books and she can ignore her lunch to finish an engaging chapter and her Oprah's Book Club has been doing great things for the literary appreciation of the best values and virtues of life in our common universe. So, I sent her a new groundbreaking book edited by a Nigerian scholar. This is my own way of saying thank you to her and wishing Oprah Winfrey a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.



Oprah Winfrey will enjoy reading this big book on science and religion and a good Christmas present that will last for as long as she treasures the truth.
